INSTRUCTIONS: These questions ask about your sexual feelings and responses during the past 4 weeks. Please answer the following questions as honestly and clearly as possible. Your responses will be kept completely confidential. In answering these questions the following definitions apply:
Sexual activity can include caressing, foreplay, masturbation and vaginal intercourse. Sexual intercourse is defined as penile penetration (entry) of the vagina.
Sexual stimulation includes situations like foreplay with a partner, self-stimulation (masturbation), or sexual fantasy.
The 19 items of the FSFI use a 5-point Likert scale ranging from 1−5 with higher scores indicating greater levels of sexual functioning on the respective item.1 To score the measure, the sum of each domain score is first multiplied by a domain factor ratio (0.6 for desire; 0.3 for arousal; 0.3 for lubrication; 0.4 for orgasm; 0.4 for satisfaction; and 0.4 for pain) in order to place all domain totals on a more comparable scale, and then subsequently summed to derive a total FSFI score.
A FSFI total score of 26.55 to be the optimal cut score for differentiating women with and without sexual dysfunction. Source
