AOM, alternative agent (not for empiric therapy). Children and Adoelscents <15 years: Oral: 75 to 100 mg/kg/day divided every 6 hours for 10 days. Usual maximum adult dose for other indications: Mild to moderate infections: 500 mg/dose; severe infections: 1,000 mg/dose.
Skin and soft tissue infection: Infants, Children, and Adolescents: Oral 25 to 100 mg/kg/day divided every 6 hours. Max 500 mg/dose. Usual duration: 5 days; 7 days for impetigo.

Dose:
It is generally reasonable to limit individual doses to 500 mg for mild-moderate infections. Do not use this limit for pneumonia or severe infections.
