Imaging
- CT may show diffuse thickening and edema of large bowel loops associated with peri-colonic fat stranding. There may be enlarged LNs in the mesentery and/or retroperitoneal region.
Ddx
- Infectious or inflammatory. Treat for both (steroids and antibiotics).
Labs
- Leukocytosis
- Elevated CRP

- Admission
- IV fluids
- Cipro 500 mg bid
- Solucortef 125 mg IV
- Pantoloc 80 mg IV
- Prednisone 40 mg PO daily
- Asacol 800 mg PO BID
- Hydrocortisone enemas
- Pain medication
- Antinauseants
