Effective December 15, 2022, the order mnemonic HEPDX for hepatitis serology will no longer include testing for hepatitis A IgM antibody (Anti-HAV IgM).
The HEPDX order is now designated to test for only hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV), which includes;

HBV surface antigen (HBsAg)

Anti-HBV core total antibody (HBc total Ab) and
-
Anti-HCV Ab
Where an ordering requisition states Hepatitis Diagnosis Panel, the HEPDX mnemonic will apply.
If hepatitis A IgM antibody testing is required, please order HAVABM or state Anti-HAV IgM on the ordering requisition.
